Gresham extended their losing streak  to eight  on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 2-18 in the process. They lost  12-0 to the Sandy Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  6-1  on Tuesday.
As for Sandy, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.9 runs over those games.
For Sandy's part,  Cal Green and  Brayden Sievertsen were major factors while hitting and pitching. On the mound,  Green   pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Meanwhile,  Sievertsen   tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. At the plate,  Green  went 1-for-4 with one  stolen base, one  run,  and one  double, while  Sievertsen  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  stolen bases, one  run,  and one  RBI.
