The Soledad Aztecs posted their biggest win yet this season on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 69-47 margin over King City. Winning may never get old, but Soledad sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Soledad's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hugo Barroso led the charge by scoring 16 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Anikan Tavarez, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Soledad pushed their record up to 5-10 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points per game. As for King City, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season.
Soledad will look to defend their home court on Friday against Monte Vista Christian at 7:00 p.m. Monte Vista Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully Soledad likes a good challenge. As for King City, they will head out on the road to square off against Greenfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Greenfield and six for King City.
