Cypress Creek's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kidiel Maldonado, who had 24 assists, and Jessiel Perez, who had 11 assists and three aces. Maldonado is crushing it when it comes to assists: he's posted at least 20 every time he's taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when East River faced off against Edgewater on Tuesday. East River fell just short of Edgewater by a score of 3-2. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-10 in the first set.
East River started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 10-25, 23-25, 25-22, 25-23, 18-16.
East River's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Cypress Creek, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
