The Dixon Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Richlands at home and fell 54-27. Dixon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brayden Anderson - Sidbury, who rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Avion James, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Dixon has yet to win a match at home this season, leaving them with a 4-7 record. The slump could be explained by some tough opposition over that stretch, namely Richlands, White Oak, and West Carteret. As for Richlands, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixon will face off against Havelock at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Havelock is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games. Richlands is on the road again on Friday and play against Northern Nash at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Northern Nash is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
