Center Point is 1-9 against Johnson City since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Center Point Pirates will be playing in front of their home fans against the Johnson City Eagles at 8:00 p.m. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Center Point has struggled recently with ten defeats in a row, while Johnson City will arrive with three straight wins.
Center Point suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Friday. They were dealt a 66-26 loss at the hands of Goldthwaite. Center Point has struggled against Goldthwaite recently, as their matchup on Friday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Johnson City beat San Saba 58-50 on Friday.
Johnson City can attribute much of their success to Aiden Fulton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds, and Johnny Slawinski, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mccray Jacobs, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Center Point's defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-10. As for Johnson City, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.
Center Point was dealt a bruising 63-20 defeat at the hands of Johnson City in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Center Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
