The Mt. Vernon Wildcats on the road again on Thursday and play against the Fairfield Mules at 5:30 p.m. on January 18th. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Mt. Vernon didn't have too much trouble with Harrisburg on the road as they won 68-54.
Nicot Burnett was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Brady Schickel, who scored 13 points.
Meanwhile, Fairfield didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Evansville Day on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 47-43 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Fairfield.
The victory got Mt. Vernon back to even at 6-6. As for Fairfield, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
