The Fort Mill Yellow Jackets will head out on the road to take on the Nation Ford Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in South Carolina (Fort Mill is ranked 29th, while Nation Ford is ranked 39th).
Last Tuesday, Fort Mill beat Clover 64-52. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fort Mill.
Fort Mill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Logan Parker, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of AJ Washington, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Nation Ford pushed their score all the way to 65 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of Spring Valley. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (63), Nation Ford still had to take the loss.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Caden Giles, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. He hasn't dropped below ten rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jackson Burnham, who scored 21 points along with two blocks.
Fort Mill's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for Nation Ford, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.
Fort Mill came up short against Nation Ford when the teams last played back in January, falling 68-62. Can Fort Mill avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
