There's no place like home for the Yutan Chieftains, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They took down West Point-Beemer 54-35 on Saturday. For Yutan, this counts as revenge for the 50-21 defeat West Point-Beemer walked away with the last time they faced one another back in November of 2017.
Yutan was led to victory by Amelia Dieckman and Jade Lewis. Dieckman scored 11 points, while Lewis scored 11 points. Haley Kube was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
When it comes to explaining why West Point-Beemer lost, one person who can't be blamed is Allie Kaup. Despite the final result, she scored 17 points along with 7 rebounds.
The victory got Yutan back to even at 1-1. As for West Point-Beemer, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Yutan will head out on the road to face off against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Arlington focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Thursday.
