Burlingame took a 55-41 bruising from Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool on Friday. Burlingame was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Laurel Schwensen, who scored 15 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Schwensen has scored at least 25% of Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sami Baum, who scored 12 points.
Burlingame's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlingame will challenge Waverly on Saturday. As for Northeast Kansas Nighthawks HomeSchool, they will head out on the road to face off against Cair Paravel at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
