The Holy Ghost Prep Firebirds will square off against the St. Augustine Prep Hermits at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
On Wednesday, Holy Ghost Prep got the win against Faith Christian Academy by a conclusive 8-1.

Matt Riendeau
Holy Ghost Prep got a great performance from Matt Riendeau as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Riendeau also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Firebirds are 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-3 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Jake Keaser was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double. He also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Eddie Rosado was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Meanwhile, St. Augustine Prep strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They were the clear victors by a 13-5 margin over Hammonton. Considering the Hermits have won four games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Marco Christopher, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Jackson, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
St. Augustine Prep pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Holy Ghost Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Holy Ghost Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Augustine Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
