After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Piedmont Community Charter, Jackson Day was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 73-52 margin over the Sugar Creek Charter Wildcats. The Mariners have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Jackson Day was led to victory by Alexander Hector-Davis and Malachi Lewis. Hector-Davis shot 56% from the field en route to 11 points and six steals, while Lewis posted 13 points. Abdul Ezeagu also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

Jackson Day was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sugar Creek Charter only racked up eight.

Despite the loss, Sugar Creek Charter still got an impressive performance from Derek Thomas, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mukaba Wossa, who earned seven points.

Jackson Day's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6. As for Sugar Creek Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-8.

Jackson Day will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Carolina International at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. Sugar Creek Charter will take on Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 63.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
