Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is American's Third in Last Four Outings

After only one run in their last game, American made sure to put some runs up on the board against Goleman on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitcher stepped up to hand the Gators an 18-0 shutout. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Mia Harrison made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Solange Aleman was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ashley Ramon, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

American hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

American has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Goleman, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Looking ahead, American will take on Hialeah Gardens at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Patriots will need to watch out since the Gladiators have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. As for Goleman, they will be playing at home against Flanagan at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
