Baseball Recap: Central Magnet Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Central Magnet gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. Everything went their way against the Newton Local Indians as they made off with a 16-10 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Central Magnet.

Elijah Bonner was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Mitchell Coons was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.

Central Magnet pushed their record up to 12-12 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Newton Local, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-2.

Coming up, Central Magnet will host Oneida at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Newton Local, they will head out to face off against Fulton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
