The Beddingfield Bruins and the Clinton Dark Horses squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Beddingfield Bruins had to settle for second. Beddingfield had to suffer through a rough 56-15 loss at the hands of Clinton. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Beddingfield in their matchups with Clinton: they've now lost four in a row.
Beddingfield's loss came despite strong showings from Craig Barnes and Taevon Edwards. Barnes rushed for 94 yards and a touchdown, while Edwards picked up 46 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Amaris Williams was on fire for Clinton: he rushed for 133 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries. Josiah MClaurin was another major influence, as he rushed for 71 yards and ran in a TD.
Beddingfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Clinton, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Beddingfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Clinton will be playing at home against Southeast Alamance at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Southeast Alamance is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road.
