The home team had won the previous three meetings between Eldorado and West Mesa, and Eldorado kept the tradition alive. Eldorado's pitchers stepped up to hand West Mesa a 16-0 shutout on Saturday. The Golden Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kavan Salas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the first time he hasn't allowed a single hit since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on John Wofford, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and one run. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sullivan Wilson, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Eldorado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Eldorado's record is now 10-5. As for West Mesa, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

Eldorado and West Mesa will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Eldorado will face off against rival Capital at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, West Mesa is set to challenge their familiar foe Albuquerque at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
