Frost's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brenda Manrriquez led the charge by scoring ten points along with seven steals and six rebounds. Manrriquez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Karlee Anderson, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Itasca has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-16 record this season. As for Frost, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 20-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Itasca will take on Italy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Frost, they will head out on the road to face off against Rio Vista at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Rio Vista will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1270th, while Frost is ranked 381st).
