Jaren Frickey and Aiden Aschenbrenner certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Frickey went 5 for 10 en route to 21 points, while Aschenbrenner went 5 of 10 on his way to 13 points along with five assists and five steals. Aschenbrenner is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Caleb Noble-Heit, who posted seven points in addition to five assists and five boards.
Ellis' loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Hoxie, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellis will venture away from home to challenge Oakley at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Oakley has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Hoxie, they will head out to square off against Russell at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th.
