Shadow Mountain is 0-4 against Paradise Honors since January of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Shadow Mountain Matadors will head out on the road to take on the Paradise Honors Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Shadow Mountain is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Tuesday, Shadow Mountain came up short against Thunderbird and fell 54-47. Shadow Mountain has struggled against Thunderbird recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Pierce Rogers, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Cory Lamb-Jones was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Paradise Honors put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 63-32 win over Yuma. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Paradise Honors has posted since November 28, 2023.
Paradise Honors can attribute much of their success to Christian Dubrey, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds, and Tj Harris, who scored 18 points along with five assists and three steals. Harris hasn't dropped below 15points for 19 straight games. Another player making a difference was Antwan Gilkey, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Shadow Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Paradise Honors, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.
Shadow Mountain took a serious blow against Paradise Honors in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, falling 74-45. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Harris, who scored 33 points along with nine steals and five assists.
