Basketball Game Preview: Enka Jets vs. North Buncombe Black Hawks

Enka is 8-2 against North Buncombe since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Enka Jets will welcome the North Buncombe Black Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Enka is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.1 points per game this season.

Enka is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Tuesday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 53-49 heartbreaker at the hands of T.C. Roberson. The match was a 25-25 toss-up at halftime, but the Jets couldn't quite close it out.

Despite their defeat, Enka saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hyatt Middleton, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 21 points and five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Those 21 points gave Middleton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Trantham, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Meanwhile, North Buncombe posted their closest win since January 3, 2024 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Robbinsville 63-60.

North Buncombe's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.0 points per game. As for Enka, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

Enka beat North Buncombe 80-72 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Enka repeat their success, or does North Buncombe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
