Jared Hollabaugh made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Biglerville is 3-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 1-4 otherwise. Hollabaugh was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Caleb Woolson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-4. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin Althoff, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Littlestown ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over Hanover.
Littlestown saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Peart, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI. That double marked the first that Peart hit this season. Lucas Bacher was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Littlestown's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-5-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Biglerville, their record is now 4-5.
Littlestown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Biglerville hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .342. It's a different story for Littlestown, though, as they've only averaged .207. Will they be able to contain Biglerville's hitters?
