Walkersville extended the longest winning streak in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont this week by beating Frederick, 55-30. The win marks ninth in a row for the the Lions.
Middletown took down Linganore 36-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Frederick's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Cadets feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Matt Hynes has thrown for 1837 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Alex Levine has 45 catches for 669 yards. Jerel English leads the league in rushing with 1001 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Knights and Walkersville. Middletown enters the contest ranked ninth in the state, while the Lions ranks 10th.
The Cadets' Hynes is within 163 passing yards of surpassing 2,000 on the season coming into this week's game against Governor Thomas Johnson.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Kevin Lynott's team takes on Walkersville. The Knights have allowed 118 points this season, while the Lions have given up 115. Middletown allowed 7 points last week as it bested the Lancers.
The Patriots and Oakdale played the most hotly contested game in Monocacy Valley - Piedmont this week, with the Patriots eventually emerging with a 24-22 victory.
