3A - South recap October 1, 2013
Dalton Harmon of Juab ran for the longest rushing play in 3A - South this season against Canyon View last week. Harmon's team bested the Falcons as he sprinted for 82 yards on the play and finished with 150 in all.
Fans got a thrill when Nick Robins and Chance Carlton connected against Canyon View. The connection went for 63 yards, the longest such play in the league this season.
Juab's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Robins threw for 240 and 3 touchdowns and Carlton had 98 yards receiving. On the ground Harmon chipped in 150 yards. Dedric Davidson helped Juab's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 76 yards.
He was 9-13 with 0 interception.
Harmon made the biggest impact on defense this week as Mike Bowring's team topped Robby Robinson's team. He recorded 3 fumbles.
Harmon was the best running back in the league this week. Davidson also contributed to the rushing game with 40 yards on the ground.
The Wasps' Robins and Davidson led 3A - South in both passing and receiving yards. Robins has thrown for 1,030 yards this season, while Davidson has 15 catches for 344 yards. The Falcons' Braxton Higgins leads the league in rushing yards with 679.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Richfield takes on second place Manti.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Manti takes on Richfield. The Templars have allowed 89 points this season, while the Wildcats have given up 41. Manti allowed 14 points last week as it defeated Delta.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Richfield beat North Sanpete 28-0. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
