The Mattamuskeet Lakers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 65-45 walloping at the hands of Cape Hatteras. Mattamuskeet has struggled against Cape Hatteras recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Griffin Couch continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cape Hatteras, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Samuel Jenkins, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Mattamuskeet dropped their record down to 6-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Cape Hatteras, their win bumped their record up to 4-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mattamuskeet will take on Eastern Christian HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cape Hatteras, they will be playing at home against Ocracoke at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ocracoke has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
