The South Hagerstown Rebels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Williamsport by a score of 59-57. South Hagerstown was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Williamsport apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Leading Williamsport to victory were Jalen Coleman and Ceonta Wilmore. Coleman scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Wilmore scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wilmore has scored at least a third of Williamsport's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Corry Nelson Jr, who scored eight points along with three steals.
South Hagerstown has not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Williamsport, their victory bumped their record up to 11-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Hagerstown will take on GVCS Broadfording at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Williamsport, they will play host again and welcome Tuscarora, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Tuscarora is coming into the matchup with six straight losses on the road, meaning Williamsport will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory.
