After flying high against the Alanson Vikings last Thursday, the Ellsworth Lancers came back down to earth. Ellsworth fell to Grand Traverse Academy 37-32. Ellsworth has struggled against Grand Traverse Academy recently, as their match on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Grand Traverse Academy was led to victory by Breanna Graczyk and Megan Pavwoski. Graczyk scored six points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Pavwoski dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Pavwoski hasn't dropped below two blocks for eight straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Alleah Dix, who scored six points.
Ellsworth's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ellsworth will face off against North Michigan Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Michigan Christian Academy is coming into the match with four straight victories at home, so Ellsworth is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum. As for Grand Traverse Academy, they will head out on the road to square off against Cadillac Heritage Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
