The ASPIRA Charter Wolves pushed their score all the way to 69 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were beaten by Odyssey Charter 100-69. ASPIRA Charter just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Despite the loss, ASPIRA Charter still got an impressive performance from Zy'aire Gibson, who scored 31 points along with eight blocks and five rebounds. Gibson scored a full 44.9% of ASPIRA Charter's points, the ninth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Cabreja, who scored five points.
ASPIRA Charter's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-6. As for Odyssey Charter, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. ASPIRA Charter will take on Chester Charter Scholars Academy at 8:00 p.m. on January 12th. As for Odyssey Charter, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Newark Charter School at 5:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Newark Charter School is ranked 48th, while Odyssey Charter is ranked 41st).
