The Grasso Tech Eagles pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were the victim of a tough 81-55 loss at the hands of Windham RVT. Grasso Tech has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Grasso Tech had strong showings from Joseph Moore, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds, and Charis Johnson, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and six assists. It was the first time this season that Moore scored 15 or more points. Jerry Santiago was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Windham RVT got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Brady Marsh out in front who scored 19 points along with four steals and two blocks. Marsh is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dezmen Gaston, who scored 20 points along with six assists and five steals.
Grasso Tech's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-7. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.7 points per game. As for Windham RVT, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grasso Tech will square off against the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Windham RVT, they will head out on the road to take on the Gladiators at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Connecticut (Goodwin Tech is ranked 101st, while the Mighty Tigers are ranked 100th).
