Williamsburg has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Whitley County Colonels at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Williamsburg made easy work of the Hawks and carried off a 75-52 victory. With Williamsburg ahead 45-22 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Whitley County was able to grind out a solid victory over the Cardinals on Friday, taking the game 53-45. The victory was all the more spectacular given Whitley County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Cardinals are ranked 31st).
The victory got Williamsburg back to even at 11-11. Whitley County's record now sits at 16-6.
Williamsburg barely slipped by the Colonels when the teams last played back in January, winning 61-60. The rematch might be a little tougher for Williamsburg since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
