Hueytown found their leader in underclassman Na' Kyrie Tolbert, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Tolbert's 13th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Joy Minniefield, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Hueytown's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Bessemer City, their loss dropped their record down to 4-13.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hueytown will take on Bessemer City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bessemer City is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. They won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Midfield at 2:00 p.m. on January 6th. Midfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Bessemer City in Alabama (Midfield is ranked 126th, while Bessemer City is ranked 305th).
