The Richmond Raiders will take on the Charlotte Catholic Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Richmond comes in on four and Charlotte Catholic on five.
Richmond is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Union Pines on Tuesday as Richmond made off with an 11-1 win. That's two games straight that the Raiders have won by exactly ten runs.

Jason Walker spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. He has become a key player for Richmond: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-5 otherwise.
On the hitting side, Landon Taylor was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Richmond is undefeated when Taylor posts two or more runs, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jabari Douglas, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.
Taylor wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Richmond kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. Richmond is a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Charlotte Catholic challenged Garinger on Tuesday. Charlotte Catholic put the hurt on Garinger with a sharp 16-1 victory. Considering the Cougars have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Evan Johnston looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits (and not a single walk).
At the plate, Charlotte Catholic got a massive performance out of Caden O'Neill, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. Jahdier Rodriguez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Charlotte Catholic pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Richmond, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Richmond has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Charlotte Catholic struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
