Big Spring and the Bubblers are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Big Spring Bulldogs will head out on the road to challenge the Boiling Springs Bubblers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Big Spring had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 60-43 win over James Buchanan on Friday.
Even though Boiling Springs has not done well against the Greyhounds recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Boiling Springs came out on top against the Greyhounds by a score of 63-54. That's two games straight that Boiling Springs has won by exactly nine points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Boiling Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon Ascione, who scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Brayden Richie, who scored 21 points.
Big Spring's record is now 14-6. As for Boiling Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Big Spring came up short against the Bubblers in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 45-34. Can Big Spring avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
