The Perry Hall Gators put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 33-6 win over Kenwood at home. Considering Perry Hall has won six contests by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Perry Hall's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacob Wagner, who rushed for 65 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 35 receiving yards. Corey Costner was another key contributor, picking up 145 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Perry Hall's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-9 Chesapeake and 2-8 Woodlawn (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 41.5% over those games). As for Kenwood, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Perry Hall's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Woodlawn at 6:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Woodlawn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Maryland Rankings (they are ranked 153rd, while Perry Hall is ranked 20th). As for Kenwood, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Digital Harbor at 3:00 p.m.
