Cape Henlopen is 0-3 against St. Georges Tech since September of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Cape Henlopen Vikings will head out on the road to face off against the St. Georges Tech Hawks at 12:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Cape Henlopen faced Dover in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Cape Henlopen was beaten by Dover 35-7. Cape Henlopen has not had much luck with Dover recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Cape Henlopen's loss came about despite a quality game from Maurki James, who rushed for 189 yards. James hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for five straight games.
Meanwhile, St. Georges Tech's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a 48-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Smyrna. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Cape Henlopen's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for St. Georges Tech, they bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Cape Henlopen came up short against St. Georges Tech when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 28-19. Thankfully for Cape Henlopen, Donovan Brooks (who rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also threw for 162 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time.
