Pisgah is a perfect 3-0 against Magee since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Pisgah will be playing at home against Magee at 7:00 p.m. Pisgah is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.
Last Tuesday, Pisgah beat Raleigh 7-3. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Meanwhile, Magee got themselves on the board against Hazlehurst on Tuesday, but Hazlehurst never followed suit. They blew past the Indians 12-0. Considering the Trojans have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jeremiah Cole made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Cole was also stellar in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Kendal Middleton and Sawyer Chafin did most of the damage at the plate: Middleton scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Chafin scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave Middleton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Timothy Craft, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Magee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Magee is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. Pisgah's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pisgah has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .450. However, it's not like Magee struggles in that department as they've averaged .478. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Pisgah's way against Magee in their previous matchup back in February, as Pisgah made off with a 13-0 victory. Will Pisgah repeat their success, or does Magee has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
