The Payson Longhorns will head out on the road to take on the Show Low Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Winslow scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, Payson still came out on top. Payson took down Winslow 79-60. Winning may never get old, but Payson sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Mikey Schinstock was his usual excellent self, going 9 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 39 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Anderson Hatch, who scored 15 points.
Meanwhile, Show Low came into Thursday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 64-53 victory over Winslow on Thursday.
Cameron Wallentine was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Preston Power, who scored 13 points.
Payson now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Show Low, their victory bumped their record up to 20-9.
Payson didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Show Low in their previous matchup on Monday, but they still walked away with a 84-78 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Payson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
