The King's Academy Lions lost to the Cocke County Fighting Cocks back in December of 2021, but the King's Academy Lions didn't allow the Cocke County Fighting Cocks the same satisfaction on Friday. King's Academy walked away with a 43-36 victory over Cocke County. The victory made it back-to-back wins for King's Academy.
Leading King's Academy to victory were Brady Branam and Skylar Walden. Branam scored 10 points along with 9 rebounds, while Walden scored 17 points along with 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Walden has scored at least 25% of King's Academy's points. Olivia Loveday was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
King's Academy now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Cocke County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. King's Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Knoxville Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on November 28th. Hopefully Knoxville Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday. As for Cocke County, they will head out on the road to face off against William Blount at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
