Enterprise is a perfect 10-0 against Milford since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. Enterprise will venture away from home to face off against Milford at 3:30 p.m. The last five games Enterprise has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Last Friday, it was close, but Enterprise sidestepped Kanab for a 2-1 win.
Parker Staheli spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up nine Ks. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Enterprise saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Hiatt, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI. That's the most RBI Hiatt has posted since back in May of 2024.
Hiatt wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Enterprise kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kanab only managed four hits.
Meanwhile, Milford had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 10-5.
Kason Kesler made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Kesler was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Sadler Barnes was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Tyce Barnes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run.
Enterprise's record is now 10-5. As for Milford, their record is now 11-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Enterprise has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Milford struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Enterprise skirted past Milford 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Does Enterprise have another victory up their sleeve, or will Milford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
