Softball Recap: Monroe Starts Season with Win on the Road

Monroe had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They never let the Glacier Peak Grizzlies get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory on Thursday. For the Bearcats, this counts as revenge for the 9-2 win the Grizzlies walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

The result came thanks to Addy Bryant's shutout, as she gave up just seven hits.

On the hitting side, Scarlett Nagy was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophia Jeske, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Glacier Peak is on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, Monroe will look to defend their home field on Monday against Kamiak at 6:30 p.m. As for Glacier Peak, they will head out on the road to challenge Snohomish at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
