Basketball Recap: Nehemiah Barnett's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Harrison Central over Ocean Springs

Harrison Central came up into this matchup off a tough 26-point defeat last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Ocean Springs Greyhounds by a score of 52-50 on Monday. The game was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Red Rebels couldn't quite close it out.

Harrison Central's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nehemiah Barnett, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 20 points. Those 20 points gave Barnett a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jasen Pace, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten boards.

Harrison Central has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-16 record this season. As for Ocean Springs, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Harrison Central will head out on the road to face off against St. Martin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Martin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51 points per game this season.
