Basketball Recap: Economedes' Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Edinburg North, Economedes was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They took down the Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears 59-42. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Jaguars as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Economedes got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nathaniel De La Garza out in front who went 6 of 15 on his way to 18 points and four steals. De La Garza's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jesse Medrano, who posted 11 points along with six assists and five steals.

Despite the loss, Pharr-San Juan-Alamo had strong showings from Max Roque, who put up seven points, and Diego Guajardo, who scored three points and five rebounds.

Economedes now has a winning record of 15-14. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-20.

Economedes has already played their next contest, a 64-35 defeat against Edinburg on the 28th. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-43 loss against Weslaco on the 28th.
