It was a good run, but the Breckinridge County Fighting Tigers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a rough 82-50 loss at the hands of Butler County. Breckinridge County was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Butler County apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Butler County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lawson Rice led the charge by dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Rice also grabbed two+ steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Ty Price, who scored 24 points along with four steals.
Breckinridge County's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Butler County, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Breckinridge County will be home for the holidays to greet Hancock County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hancock County is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Butler County, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Russellville at 6:00 p.m. on December 14th. Russellville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings (they are ranked 241st, while Butler County is ranked eighth).
