It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Kolbe-Cathedral Cougars ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They took down Crosby 89-74. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Crosby lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jeydan Benjamin, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. Benjamin set a new season high mark in steals with two. Daniel Melendez was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six assists and three steals.
Kolbe-Cathedral pushed their record up to 3-0 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Crosby, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-1.
Kolbe-Cathedral is on the road again on Thursday and play against Hillhouse at 5:00 p.m. on December 28th. Crosby will finish 2023 at home by hosting St. Paul Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. St. Paul Catholic will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
