With a playoff game on the line, the Choctaw County Tigers rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They escaped with a win against the Panthers by the margin of a single free throw, 37-36. This was a revenge matchup for Choctaw County, as the team was forced to settle for a 50-35 loss when these two played last Tuesday.
Choctaw County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyshawn Carlisle, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Carlisle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Johnny Grice Jr., who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Choctaw County's victory ended a eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Marengo, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-8.
Choctaw County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Marengo also has no future games currently scheduled.
