Basketball Recap: Andrew Rowell Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Greenacres Christian

Morningside Academy won the last time they faced Greenacres Christian and things went their way on Friday too. The Morningside Academy Eagles enjoyed a cozy 59-45 victory over the Greenacres Christian Panthers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Morningside Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Andrew Rowell, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 18 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Bell, who posted 14 points and eight rebounds.

Morningside Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Greenacres Christian only racked up six assists.

When it comes to explaining why Greenacres Christian lost, don't look at Brendan Daniels. Despite the final result, he went 10 of 21 on his way to 24 points along with five boards and three blocks. The game was Daniels' 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Rahmello Makonnen, who put up ten points.

Morningside Academy's record is now 8-6. As for Greenacres Christian, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Morningside Academy will welcome Dreyfoos School of the Arts at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Morningside Academy has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Greenacres Christian, they will venture away from home to face off against Jupiter Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Jupiter Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Greenacres Christian likes a good challenge.
