The Wray Eagles pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The game between Wray and Colby wasn't particularly close, with Wray falling 75-58. Wray has not had much luck with Colby recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Wray lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Adonay Gonzalez, who scored seven points along with seven steals. Gonzalez set a new season high mark in steals with seven. The team also got some help courtesy of AB Ruiz, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Wray has fallen quite a ways from their 21-6 record last season and are now at 1-3. As for Colby, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Wray and Chase County will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Chase County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday. Colby and Holcomb will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Holcomb will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
