Olivia Chau made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with two triples, two runs, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Seton got a massive performance out of Penny Kramer, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those runs were Kramer's first of the season. Virginia Knight was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.
Seton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .644. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Quantico hadn't done well against Seton recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Warriors put the hurt on the Conquistadors with a sharp 26-11 victory. The Warriors' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Quantico let Jadyn Cline and Alicya Talla run wild. Cline got on base in all six of her plate appearances with six runs, two triples, and three RBI, while Talla got on base in five of her six plate appearances with five runs, two stolen bases, and five RBI. With that strong performance, Cline is now averaging an impressive 2.4 runs per game. Another player making a difference was Peyton Greene, who got on base in all six of her plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Seton's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Quantico, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Quantico struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 6.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Seton might still be hurting after the 26-11 defeat they got from Quantico in their previous meeting on Thursday. Can the Conquistadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
