The Manitou Springs Mustangs will be staying on the road  on Monday to face off against the North Bend Bulldogs at 9:00  a.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
 Last Wednesday, Manitou Springs faced Falcon in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Manitou Springs narrowly escaped with a  victory as the  team sidled past Falcon  8-6. The  win was just what Manitou Springs needed coming off of  a  9-1 defeat in their prior  contest.
  Canon Feist made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   not allowing a single  earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Feist was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Hayden Martinez, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, North Bend sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with  a  2-1  victory over Taft  on Tuesday. The  win made it back-to-back  victories for North Bend.
 Manitou Springs now  has a winning record of 2-1. As for North Bend, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.
