The Mountain View Mountain Lions had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Northridge 55-53. That's another feather in the cap for Mountain View, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Dylan Garland continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Elijah Sava was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why Northridge lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Lincoln Lyons. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Amadrick Woods, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Mountain View's victory bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Northridge, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-16.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mountain View and Skyline will face off at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Mountain View knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven matches -- so hopefully Skyline likes a good challenge. As for Northridge, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Riverdale Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on February 13th. Riverdale Ridge will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Northridge surely won't give up without a fight.
