Softball Recap: Caroline Snags Seventh Victory in Last Eight Games

While Caroline put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for James Monroe. The Cavaliers were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Yellow Jackets. The Cavaliers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by nine runs or more this season.

Jaidyn Tingen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Caroline got a massive performance out of Rylee Chinault, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Jada Bolden was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Caroline is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for James Monroe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Caroline will challenge rival Courtland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, James Monroe is set to square off against their familiar foe Chancellor at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
