The Alcovy Tigers struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Monday (the Mundy's Mill Tigers were 34% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Alcovy fell 46-35 to Mundy's Mill. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Alcovy has scored all season.
Despite the loss, Alcovy still got an impressive performance from Nick Durham, who scored 22 points. Durham is crushing the point category: he's posted at least 22 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Robert Miller, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Mundy's Mill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Dajuan Riddle, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fred Umeano, who scored seven points along with 13 rebounds and three blocks.
Alcovy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Mundy's Mill, their win bumped their record up to 12-10.
Alcovy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Forest Park at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Alcovy is facing Forest Park at the right time seeing as Forest Park is stuck on a 11-game losing streak. As for Mundy's Mill, they will square off against Lovejoy at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mundy's Mill is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 55.7 points per game this season.
